You will leave the house to walk deep into the admirable natural scenarios surrounding you, down into the centre of the most splendid and quaint art town, where you can lose yourself into the narrow walkways and just savour the taste of a relaxing time spent in the square; where you can let the velvety air embrace you surrounded by ancient buildings transpiring history and tradition - which will come as the most natural things to do.
The Dimora degli Illuminati, right at the heart of the historical town centre, is a loft of about 80 sq meters - 262.5 sq ft - with six beds (a double bed, a double sofa-bed and a foldable bunk bed with 85 x 195 cm - 34 inches wide x 77 inches long - comfortable mattresses).
The loft is in Vicolo degli Illuminati, 18 - a side street from Via Fonte Bella, one of the three main ancient streets of Assisi linking the Basilica di San Francesco to the Piazza del Comune. This house was once a farm house complete with a wine cellar with direct production of wine.
This space is now home to today’s loft, kept in its original glow inheriting with no alteration the genuine and original elements of the medieval architecture. Recently renovated, it offers double vaulted brick ceilings, 4.70 meters – 15.5 ft - high, hosting a balustrade-ending mezzanine for the sleeping area. The ground floor is characterized by an airy living space fully furnished with one double and one single sofa bed, a 50-inch TV colour with home-theatre stereo system, complete with a wide DVD-movie selection. On the same floor there also is a solid wooden, fully furnished, kitchen complete of a four-cooker board, sink and fridge-freezer, wall cupboards, design hood, on top of all necessary cooking appliances. To complete the property is a bathroom with bath, and an anteroom storing a washing machine.
It is just a stone-throw from the enchanting squares and renowned monuments, among which is the spectacular beauty of the Basilica di San Francesco (just about 200 yards away), the Basilica di Santa Chiara, the Cattedrale di San Rufino and others. The house is heated through an autonomous convector system.
Parking is outside the front house. Supermarket, restaurant, pastry shop, bar, pharmacy, laundry, post office, bank and all other shops are just few yards away. This home is ideal both for couples and families.
